The Sugar Busch is the brainchild of Albert Mizrahi (drums and vocals) and Meyer Benun (guitar, and vocals), and James Goldberg (Bass and Production). The three met in the New York yeshivah scene in 2010. Shortly thereafter, the trio bonded over their shared love of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Stadium Arcadium. By high school, the two had gotten into the classics: The Beatles, The Stones, The Zeppelin etc.
They began playing together in 10th grade in Al’s basement. They’d try to play some covers and would often improvise. They started to write songs in 9th grade. These songs were bad. It was not until their first year of college, in 2013, that they started to write good songs.
